WHAT IS A HEAD SPA TREATMENT?

The Scalp + HeadSpa at Modern Wave Salon + Spa is a wellness experience for the mind and body. We offer a special Japanese method that is part spa trip, part scalp treatment. 

​

This is similar to a “Facial for the Scalp”. The most important factor in a Head Spa is boosting microcirculation and unclogging the follicles.  We begin treatment by thoroughly analyzing and diagnosing your scalp with our 1000X magnification scalp camera. We carefully select the shampoo/mask tailored to your condition. The procedure involves preparing, purifying, exfoliating, deep cleansing, massaging and treating both scalp and hair using Japanese technology and our unique massaging and shampooing techniques. The result is ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation due to boosting the release of alpha-waves in the brain, increasing micro-circulation and lymph flow throughout the scalp and rest of the body.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our hair cycle includes four phases — hair , catagen, telegen, and exogen. The longest and most significant phase is the anagen. This phase can last between 2-6 years and allows hair to grow approximately 1 cm every 28 days. Our goal at Modern Wave is to aid the anagen process giving you longer, thicker, and more luxurious hair.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE/TREATMENT?

The full treatment process can last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes and is meant to better both your hair health and mental state. Our approach is holistic, so with each treatment, we aim to address the root causing scalp issues and help our clients feel a sense of wholeness once again.

HOW OFTEN CAN THIS BE DONE?

A Head Spa is an Anti-Aging necessity! Anywhere from once a week to once or twice a month. If you are treating hair loss, once a week is strongly recommended.
